Johannesburg OutRun Further Details

The next SentiMETAL OutRun in Gauteng will take place on Sunday, 6 October.

"Since the last run in February, we've had so many requests for another meet," says Cars.co.za's Hannes Oosthuizen. "It's great to see such passion, and I'm quite sure this next run will see us gather more than the 123 classics that showed up for the last Cape Town run to the Franschhoek Motor Museum."

Once again the start will be at the Cars.co.za head office in Bedfordview (18 Nicol Road), where there is ample, safe parking for the cars. Note that only owners of classic cars that have informed the organisers of their intention to attend (via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram messaging) will be able to park inside. The gates will open at 8:30am.

Refreshments will be available on site - to support Cars.co.za's greater eco efforts and to do your bit for the planet, bring your own "Keep-Cup" and the coffee is on us! If you don't have one, don't fret, high-octane caffeine is on offer for only R20 (in biodegradable cups, of course).

An Opel Superboss follows a Fiat 500, Isetta and Alfa Romeo Montreal at the previous Johannesburg meet.

What are you likely to see on Sunday? "Well, if past OutRuns are anything to go by then the diversity will be staggering," says Oosthuizen. "Within the first 6 hours of announcing the 6 October date we already had 30 cars registered, including some very rare, exotic machines."

The goal of the SentiMETAL OutRun is to bring lovers of cars together in a fun and casual environment, without egos and hooliganism. "That's why you'll see anything from a '50s Chevrolet to a '90s Japanese supercar at SentiMETAL meets," Oosthuizen adds.

Owners that are not keen on a drive are welcome to participate in the morning display only. Those who want to stretch their cars', uhm, legs afterwards, will depart Bedfordview around 11:00 for a drive towards Muldersdrift. For those who wish to have lunch, a well-known restaurant in the area (TBC) will be the destination.

The event will be filmed and photographed, with all photos shared with participants afterwards.
