The R107 was also the first Mercedes SL to be fitted with a V8 engine, and this 450SL is just such an example. Produced from 1971 to 1980, 66 298 examples of the 450SL were built. The engine produces a healthy 160kW, sending power to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission.

This example

This automatic example still has its original paint from the factory and is in near-showroom condition. The interior surfaces and wood are remarkably free of the usual wear and tear that comes with age. Then again, given the car's build year, the mileage is relatively low.
