Way before the Ranger became the bakkie of choice for South Africans, there was a time when American pick-ups were quite common here. The Ford F100, in boxy sixth-generation form was one of the more popular choices and these days is quite desirable and well-suited to customization. 

This beige workhorse is largely in original condition, but some work has been done to the body in the past 40 years. The matching beige interior is very original, too. The big 5.8L V8 still pulls strong once warmed up, and the chunky BF Goodrich tyres give the Ford a soft ride.

This F100 is an honest workhorse as it is, but potentially also the starting point for an exciting custom job. Your choice!
