At the end of the previous Millennium, a survey conducted among the world's elite motoring journalists positioned the Porsche 911 as the fifth most important car produced in the automotive age (until 1999), a spectacular achievement given that it is a niche sportscar, but also one that serves to highlight the 911's staggering longevity and impact on the performance car scene.

The SC (for Super Carrera) arrived at a time when Porsche itself wasn't sure about the future of the 911, as it was prioritising the freshly-launched 928. However, it became clear that there was still place for the 911 in the market, and cars like the 911 SC, with an aluminium engine (for greater longevity), fuel injection and a 5-speed manual transmission, were eagerly snapped up.

This beauty is a 1982 Targa model. Of course, Targa configuration means that you have the option of going "somewhat" topless, but while still retaining the rigidity of a coupe.

While this car is more than 40 years old, it has aged remarkably well and presents stunningly. The mileage is a relatively low 108 000km for its age, and it has a partial service history.
