FOR SALE: 2015 Land Rover Defender 90 Africa Edition

By 2015 time was running out for the original Defender, but Land Rover nevertheless released a few tantalising special versions, including this Africa Edition. Only 20 of these were offered in Defender 90 form!

When it comes to combining two seemingly opposing interests such as classic car motoring and off-road "adventuring", few things can beat a trusty Land Rover Defender.

According to Land Rover's press release at the time of this Africa Edition's introduction in 2014, 50 units were available, of which 30 were 110 station-wagons, with the balance of 20 built on the 90-inch platform. The example on offer here is therefore a 1 of 20 vehicle!

All models featured Santorini Black paintwork with colour-coded wheel arches and a distinctive Firenze Red roof. There's also black ‘Sawtooth’ alloy wheels and each unit carried the distinguishing “Defender Africa” logo on the sides and rear.

Interior highlights include a set of Melvill and Moon seat-covers in bespoke black canvas with red leather piping, red contrast stitching and an “Africa” map tag. There’s also an audio system (CD/MP3/radio) with an auxiliary port and Bluetooth functionality.

Power comes from a 2.2-litre turbodiesel which delivers 90 kW and 360 Nm of torque.
